In an alternate universe, Sandy and I would record our episodes live, in front of an audience. So for a brief moment at PodCamp Philly 2010, we lived in that alternate universe and did a live version of “Episode 9: A Place to be Paranoid.” (MP3 file or jump over to our Facebook page to listen to it there.)
Without speaking for Sandy, PodCamp Philly was an awesome experience for me. So many people sharing information, techniques, tips and tools. We were even interviewed by Steve Lubetkin (@podcaststeve) to talk about our experiences at PodCamp Philly. Imagine, a podcast by podcasters talking about podcasting; it’s like a play within a play.
My only regret was that I wasn’t able to clone myself and see more sessions. But that is what only happens in an alternate universe. And as my luck would have it, I won an iPod nano, which was a great door prize, now loaded with all nine eight episodes of the podcast. (Yes, the original episode 1 is in a digital vault waiting for Geraldo Rivera to unlock it.)
Next Steps
Over the first few months, we’ve focused on finding the “voice” for the show. Our next step is to start involving the community in our discussion, not just in the comments, Facebook and Twitter, but in the actual shows. We are very excited about Episode 10, which features our friend Christine in a discussion about marketing and personal authenticity. But that is for next week.
We have a short list of the first few guests and a couple of “wish list” guests, but we are looking for your suggestions. Are you doing something different with your marketing efforts? If so, let’s talk about it, put a couple of microphones on the table, and teach you how to whack the clock like you mean it.
As always, thank you for reading and listening… Howard
